What We Know about Far Cry 6

The long-awaited sequel Far Cry 6 is here, and it gives the gamer more guerrilla action than they can throw a pet gator at. Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 will scratch that itch and then some when it comes out for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Luna, and Stadia. The Load Screen briefly covers what to expect from the latest installment to the Far Cry series, including what has us most excited.

The story is set on the tropical island paradise of Yara and follows Dani Rojas, who is a rebel fighting against the island’s corrupt government. Players can select either male or female for the character, like in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. The game’s real stars are the evil president Anton Castillo and his doting son Diego, with the dictator played by Giancarlo Esposito, who some may know from his roles from Breaking Bad, Mandalorian, and Better Call Saul.

Far Cry 6 will play like other single-player games in the franchise, but it will also feature a limited third-person mode. It maintains its FPS roots and the familiar grappling hook but expands the arsenal that can truly make an impact for Dani, including a wide range of improvised weapons. Work with the Libertad guerillas to build those arms and end Anton’s brutality through coordinated attacks to subvert his authority. Or play with others in Co-Op mode throughout the entire game, according to Navid Khavari, the Far Cry 6 narrative director in the Ubisoft News Plays Far Cry 6 YouTube stream.

Dani will get three different pets perfect for any guerrilla rebel’s companion, along with the human aides. Move over, Kena: Bridge of Spirits with your cute Rot, and welcome Dani’s three renegade friends! Chorizo is an adorable wiener dog that is the perfect distraction. Then there is Guapo; a crocodile bent on rebellion. Last, there is Chicharron, a rooster with enough attitude to take down an outpost on his own. All three companions have unique outfits that emphasize their best aspects, like Chicharron’s spiked collar or Chorizo’s wheelchair.

Players and fellow content creators can show off these three cute amigos with an extensive photo mode. While past games in the series have had a similar setup, the one included with Far Cry 6 rivals even the version used in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. The possibilities of this camera system have The Load Screen team excited for playing through every part of this game. The updated model includes live/studio options, emotes, poses, weather, lighting, and more, listed in the YouTube Far Cry 6 PC trailer.

Ubisoft has put together an excellent cast with an exciting story set in a beautiful island that was once a paradise, but this game has so much more to offer. The developers included plenty of accessible options within the new title, including Tobii Eye Tracking support and more. For those that order bundles that include the Season Pass, that addition covers four expansions which give players control of three infamous main protagonists from prior Far Cry titles: Vaas, Pagan, and Joseph; as well as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon base game from this Ubisoft article on Far Cry 6 Season Pass content. We cannot wait to get our hands on this game and help Dani in her crusade of justice against the dictator who runs Yara with an iron fist.
