After the big reveal of Battlefield 2042 at E3 2021, EA follows up with an entire month of reveals and showcases leading up to their big event on July 22nd called the EA Play Live Spotlight. They have five separate events scheduled, and each has its focus, such as First Person Shooters and indie developers. The Load Screen goes over the lineup, including who they are excited to hear from during the events. For any updates or changes to EA’s schedule, see the EA Play live spotlight series webpage.

The four events that lead up to the July 22nd finale are smaller. The first happens on July 8th at 10 AM PT and is titled The Future of First-Person Shooters. It features Respawn’s Apex Legends and EA’s star from E3: Battlefield 2042. We are excited to see more about the new Battlefield game, so this first day has the full attention of The Load Screen team.

The second event starts on July 13th at 10 AM PT but focuses on independent studios. It is a panel session including developers from titles such as It Takes Two, Lost in Random, and Knockout City. Another panelist that we are excited about is Abubakar Salim of Silver Rain Games, who has voiced Bayek in Assassin’s Creed: Origin and played an android called Father in HBO’s Raised by Wolves. His new company Silver Rain Games, is designed for creating empowering narratives according to the Silver Rain Games website, so expect him to reveal more about his future projects there.

The final two individual events emphasize sports. The third event occurs July 19th at 4 PM PT, focusing on the best-selling football franchise’s latest installment: Madden NFL 22. The final individual event is on July 20th at 10 AM PT, but the exact spotlight is under wraps. Will this be the latest college football game as announced in this EA Tweet on College Football? EA Sports is expansive, so there is no telling what will happen on the 20th.

That leaves only the main event on July 22nd at 10 AM PT. EA is not revealing much about the finale, other than WWE superstar Austin Creed hosts it. July is a big month for EA, and any more gameplay from Battlefield 2042 will have The Load Screen team on edge, but we also look forward to the independent developer panel on July 13th. Check out the events happening throughout July for EA’s roadmap for the future.
