Fall Guys Season 3.5

Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout Snowball Survival round with players running from a giant snowball and ice tiles breaking

Feeling as the levels in Fall Guys could use some new life? Mediatonic adapts its full line up at mid season again. The Load Screen covers what level, obstacle, and costume changes are here for Season 3.5. While the number of levels did not change drastically, the increased number and placement of obstacles across familiar courses can flair up seasoned players. They put a trap where? The answer is anywhere fun or unforgiving in the new arrangements.

The update adds one new final round called Snowball Survival. It mixes the slow disappearing platforms found in the Thin Ice round with giant snowballs that are a feature of the current season. Those unforgiving ice boulders pick up speed from surrounding wall ramps that will make getting to the end seem impossible. There are no teams in this round ever and the snowballs work against everyone, so the shrinking playfield gets treacherous with all the Indiana Jones style action that is happening.

Mediatonic takes every trick in their book and uses that for their new obstacle implementation. They made the Big Yeetus a possible hazard in all zones, and it will not always benefit the player. In fact, element positioning is randomized so they will often throw players in every direction, not always towards the finish line. Spring traps, fans, and punching gloves appear at opportune times to send a bean flying in any level. The Slime Climb round with those spring traps can really bring the laughter and the pain.

Entering the comical stage are three new winter costumes with this update: Ballerina, Regal Nutcracker, and Rainbow Fairy. Other outfits will make a return by popular demand, including Untitled Goose Game, Sonic, and Godzilla suits. All listed cosmetics are heading to the store and may rotate in availability. However, the three new ones are purchasable in the Sugar Plum Costume pack for those wanting all the outfits fast.

While the midseason update only brings one new round, the reworked obstacle placements and setups makes the existing Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout levels feel new. It is hard to speed run a familiar route when a new trap is in place, causing the old shortcut to no longer work. The best part of this game is the intense multiplayer competition, and the latest update varies the action enough that veteran and new players have a balanced chance at winning. The Load Screen team enjoys laughing at the competitive physics action with every change Mediatonic brings.
